Water management is component 2 of the KCCAP programme.

Output: established appropriate physical assets and infrastructure for water harvesting, storage and irrigation.

Activities include:

  •    Establishment of 12 roof catchments in 4 schools in each of the 3 Counties (Kilifi, Taita-Taveta and Kwale Counties). Consist of 50,000 Litre ferro-cement water tanks and guttering systems.
  •         The 12 schools will be Model schools i.e. will integrate roof catchment, establishment of tree nurseries, woodlot and agricultural activities.
  •         The schools will act as learning centersfor other schools in the sub-counties and will provide a basis for up-scaling in phase II.
